How do you select a good Courier?
Someone who is friendly, professional and can build a good business relationship with his clients. Answer your phone when someone is calling and if you really cant squeeze that customer in, be honest with them rather messing that and other deliveries up just because you dont want to say "No".
What adivce can you give us about the transport industry?
The biggest issue from the clients perspective is to trust someone to handle their goods with the same "respect" as they themselves would handle it. If your service is excellent then price is not an issue. Yes for a new client price plays a huge role but when you build a relationship with them and they know they can press on your button anytime then price becomes irrelevant.
What policies does your business follow?
Always be friendly even if you have a horrible day. Be on time for collections and deliveries. Communicate with your customer even if you dont do any trips for them that week. Be honest, always be honest. It takes very long to build a good, trustworthy reputation but you can destroy it in the blink of an eye by being dishonest.
Do you have a few client testimonials
I have to say that I dont have any written testimonials. I dont have a website where people can write something and my Facebook page is new so I still need to put in a lot of work there. I got most of my clients through "word of mouth" and for me that is an achievement. But for people that dont know me yet that doesnt mean anything so I need to do something about that.
What is the size of your fleet?
At this stage its only me that is doing everything in the company. I do my own driving, admin etc. and I add that personal touch the customer experience. I will expand in the future and get more bakkies and a couple on motorbikes but for now I am busy and quite enough to handle it on my own.
